Live Music by Local Country Western Bluegrass Band “Lonesome Redwing”

Enjoy the upbeat, folksy acoustic songs of Lonesome Redwing at the Thought Leaders Dinner! Lonesome Redwing’s music is firmly planted in the traditions of Americana, country, Western Swing, and bluegrass. The Atlanta-based trio of Kathy Reed, Ellen Rapier, and Russell Weeks are talented musicians known for their instrumental expertise and tight harmonies, and captivating songwriters as well. Their songs about people, places, and experiences big and small are as delightful as they are thoughtful. They will be joined by Walter “Dean of the Dobro” Dean on dobro and pedal steel guitar, and Joel Glogowski on the upright bass.

Along with their musical precision and craftsmanship, Lonesome Redwing is an engaging band whose performances invite the audience to join the fun. Their banter onstage and with the audience leave you with the feeling that you just spent an evening with best friends. Their original material pays homage to the classics of their genres, and their beautiful arrangements and performances give new life to beloved old sweet songs. Lonesome Redwing has opened for such legendary performers as Tony Rice, Peter Rowan, Claire Lynch, The Steep Canyon Rangers, and Patti Loveless.

Community Favorite McDaniel’s QN2 BBQ on the Menu

Dinner for the evening will be provided by a community favorite, QN2 BBQ! On the menu are BBQ sandwiches, sides and dessert, including vegetarian sides and a crudité table with chopped fruit, veggies, cheese and crackers.

Not only is QN2 a local staple in the heart of Sandy Springs, but the McDaniel’s restaurant is a long-time supporter of the nonprofit organizations that contribute to making Sandy Springs a vibrant and caring community.

Since 2002 the McDaniel brothers have been delighting BBQ fans in and around Sandy Springs with their friendly service and authentic Southern BBQ served with an unpretentious Small Town Feel. Like an Old Fashioned Meat and Three, our plates come with 2 sides. Hence the name QN2!  Whether you choose to dine in, order online, or have your event catered, our selection of  hickory smoked meats, southern veggies, and desserts will be sure to please.  So come on in, we look forward to serving you!
