Springway Celebration Fun!

Jun 27, 2025 | HOME, News

Families, friends and neighbors came out to celebrate the opening of the first section of the Springway trail with us on Saturday, June 21!

The Sandy Springs Conservancy hosted offering icy treats, fruit, and water on a steamy day along with giveaways and fun activities! The public event took place at the new Springway trail on Morgan Falls Road near the Chattahoochee River. Attendees explored the new Springway trail featuring a boardwalk around Orkin Lake!  The 1.8-mile paved trail begins on Morgan Falls Road at the corner of the parking lot to Morgan Falls Overlook Park, continues down Morgan Falls Rd past the dog park and then turns uphill to a scenic boardwalk over Orkin Lake.

The Sandy Springs Conservancy is proud to partner with the city of Sandy Springs on the development of this first section of the Springway, and the entire Springway trail plan. The city officially opened the first section in early May, making it the newest, and most scenic outdoor recreational amenity in Sandy Springs!

Volunteers from the Sandy Springs Conservancy were available to answer questions about the first section of the Springway trail and plans to complete remainder of the 5-mile Morgan Falls Connector loop trail.
