Ways to Volunteer for the Sandy Springs Conservancy

Park and Trail Clean-up, Plantings and Maintenance: Volunteers can participate in group events to remove litter from parks and trails, plant trees, and carry out limited maintenance.  Help with corporate or organizational work outings to ensure that our activities are well-managed for guest organizations.

Trail Blazer Walks: The Trail Blazer Walk is a signature activity of the Conservancy.  Experienced volunteers can serve as trail guides to lead nature walks and educational hikes for the public. During these walks, they share information about local ecosystems and wildlife while promoting safe trail etiquette and environmental awareness.

Fundraising: Passionate supporters can act as dedicated ambassadors for fundraising by providing stories about their personal connection to parks and trails and helping to identify potential major donors within the community. (Learn more …)

Public Policy: Civically minded volunteers can provide input to upcoming planning efforts and advise the board on land use, environmental or transportation topics as they relate to parks and trails. They also act as community advocates, spreading the organization’s mission to local leaders and helping to represent the interests of open space users in policy discussions.

Outreach Events: Volunteers can staff information tables at local festivals and community celebrations to raise awareness of the organization’s mission.

Marketing and Communications Committee: Creative volunteers can contribute to the organization’s social media accounts and website to showcase the impact of recent projects. Volunteers help design digital content, write newsletters, and distribute promotional flyers to ensure community members stay informed.
