Guided Tour of Morgan Falls with the Sandy Springs Conservancy

Mar 10, 2025 | Private

Join us for a private guided Trail Blazers walk at Morgan Falls Overlook Park on Saturday, April 5 at 8:30 AM.  This walk is open to families of LaAmistad. The 2 mile walk will last about one and a half hours. Children must be supervised.

Come and learn about the recreational opportunities at Overlook Park and the surrounding area! We’ll talk about the history of the grounds and the Sandy Springs Conservancy’s efforts to turn once overground land into the park that we have today.

Some of the landmarks and recreational amenities we’ll talk about and see include the golf course, kayaking, the Overlook hiking trail, the Georgia Power hydroplant and dam, the dog park and the multi-use Springway Trail.  Our walk will be guided by a representative from the Sandy Springs Conservancy and is expected to last 1.5 to 2 hours.

The Conservancy focuses on creating, conserving and connecting parks, trails and greenspace in Sandy Springs. The organization has contributed more than $1 million to help create, improve and connect more than 100 acres of parks, trails and greenspace in our community.

About SSC Trail Blazers

Sandy Springs Conservancy’s Trail Blazers is a series of monthly guided walks and hikes at local parks from March to October! Each month SSC Trail Blazers walks/hikes take place at different parks in Sandy Springs and neighboring communities. Trail Blazer events typically take place the first or second Saturday morning of each month and take about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Participants will meet at the scheduled park or trailhead location. Walks are limited to 25 participants. The minimum age to participate is 10 years old. Anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants must register and sign a liability waiver online. Registration is first come first served.
