History
The Sandy Springs Conservancy, Inc. was established in 2001 in a grass-roots effort by concerned citizens to preserve rapidly disappearing greenspace and recreation areas in Sandy Springs. The Conservancy is a non-profit organization, guided by a volunteer board of directors. It is an initiative of Sandy Springs Revitalization, Inc.
Our Mission
Our mission is to conserve, create and connect greenspace and parks in Sandy Springs. We want to ensure that a permanent network of attractive and safe natural areas, open spaces, trails, and parks is available for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Our Vision
Our vision is that Sandy Springs will be known for its natural areas, public open spaces, trails and parks and the aesthetic, recreational, civic, and property values they offer residents, businesses, and visitors.
With the incorporation of the City of Sandy Springs in December 2005, The Sandy Springs Conservancy (SSC) now has a strong and capable partner in our efforts to preserve our tree canopy, our watershed, parks and greenspace, to develop new active and passive parks, and to connect these resources with trails and walking paths for all to enjoy.
